Looking at an actual article it just sounds like this is a town full of Karens. People got mad at changing Columbus Day to Indigenous People's Day so the board just said fuck it, they're all just days off now.

I wouldn't want to have to deal with that shit either, can't blame them.

According to the article I read the school board changed the name with no announcement and no discussion. That alone is reason to be upset. These people are elected officials, they aren’t tyrants.

My understanding would be that they only control what the school calls them. Not what you have to call them. If it is within their scope of power then they should be able to change the names. Seems like people crying about something that changes absolutely nothing in their lives.
