1984 is a story of what could happen with a totalitarian government. So...a party that wants more government is heading towards such a potential regime, and a party that wants less government is heading away from such a regime. Therefore, the Democratic party, not the Republican party, is what could head us towards 1984.

That's actually a perfect example of how you misunderstood 1984's message. 1984 is a story of what happens when a party starts manipulating its supporters into disbelieving their eyes, evidence, and the existence of objective truth itself. You just demonstrated how you've uncritically bought into propaganda that is transparently untrue -- when was the last time a Republican reduced the size of the federal government? If you weren't retarded, you'd see how that's a trick question.

The school board of Randolph Township in Morris County, New Jersey, voted last Thursday to remove holiday names from their academic calendar. These days are now simply listed as a "day off".

Why would the board do such a thing? “If we don’t have anything on the calendar, we don’t have to have anyone be hurt feelings or anything like that,” board member Dorene Roche said before Thursday’s vote.

Apparently stating that there are days such as Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, President's Day, and Memorial Day is simply too much for some liberals to handle.

The backlash from local parents has been strong. A petition was started on Friday demanding that Randolph Township school board members and the school Superintendent "resign immediately," stating that they "clearly do not have the best interests of our children in anything they do" after voting the day before to remove holidays from the official school calendar. As of Monday morning, the petition has over 2400 signatures.

The Facebook page for Randolph Schools has been taken down. The Twitter account no longer exists.

Looking at an actual article it just sounds like this is a town full of Karens. People got mad at changing Columbus Day to Indigenous People's Day so the board just said fuck it, they're all just days off now.

I wouldn't want to have to deal with that shit either, can't blame them.
