The good part - when things get back to semi-normal, they'll be sure to tell you how great they did - even though it's hard to fuck it up worse than they have already... I give it a 50/50 on that though.
Actually agree with you on this 100%.
He should've seized operations under some federal national security act and had the military and the company's engineers, NSA , USC etc. manhattan project this shit.
Rather I'm here with about a gallon left in the tank and a 50 mile commute tomorrow.
I understand the man's in advanced years but he's still the fucking President. I'm sorry he dropped he ball on this one.
I don't blame him for the attack, I blame him for his response to it.
Also, the original post was a play on the left's narrative for years about how "pipelines are oh so bad and harmful to the environment"... as noted by what I listed in order....
1. Stopping Keystone Pipeline - because you know "it's bad"
2. A pipeline being disabled - resulting in the massive effect it had
3. Then the administration coming out and admitting that pipelines are the SAFEST and most EFFECTIVE mechanism available
Hell even Kerry in hearings the other day admitted pipelines are the safest, least environmentally impactful mechanism available.
But they'll keep yelling about how bad pipelines are during election season - and the "green crowd" goes bananas.
It's the hypocrisy of it all - but people wanted to jump on my typing of "oil" instead of "gas" in the post - instead of being able to comprehend the idiocy of the left and their arguments against pipelines.
What do you believe should have been his response?
Oh, I don't disagree with the hypocrisy at all... goes to show how painfully ignorant these "environmentalists" are and that their main motivation isn't the environment at all. Also, the original post was a play on the left's narrative for years about how "pipelines are oh so bad and harmful to the environment"... as noted by what I listed in order....

Boy, the unrest that would cause amongst Republicans screaming about socialism. Not to mention the lawsuits. You really think any federal agency could go in and either wipe the affected drives or root kits, setup new interfaces and come to understand proprietary systems and software belonging to Colonial any faster than Colonial itself could? The answer is no, they couldn't have.
I think they did what they should have done - in part - today with his news conference.
They lifted regulations allowing fuels from other locals easier access - ie. deregulation - which we all know normally is "bad bad bad" from the lefties.
They really didn't do much else, and it's the fact it took them this long to make such a simple determination. Along with the administrations comments at the start about how it 1. wasn't a big deal and 2. not their problem. They finally saw the blowback and spoke up - I'll give credit for them at least finally acknowledging the issue.
As for private/public coverage - per Seran's claims - there are plenty of ways without going towards socialism. I'll give you an example: Nuclear power plants. Privately owned, but because of their national infrastructure and potential repercussions if disabled - the Government is more involved in security measures and protections. Another example: Airlines - private companies, but from a security standpoint assistance and defense is in conjunction with the government.
We don't need Government run businesses (socialism/communism) - the Government is supposed to assist, support, and defend those businesses - there is a distinction - and not just say, "eh that's their problem".
Why that same coverage wouldn't apply to vital national supply chains doesn't make sense - especially given the hands off approach the administration initially tried to take with regards to this situation.
The administration wanted nothing to do with this - they still don't, but they know they can't avoid it - so up to this point, they've done as little as possible - lifting regulations on trucking container capacity - wow... that took a lot of effort.
Edit: Side note - the only reason the systems are now coming online - from most current reporting - is that Colonial paid the ransom. Biden was asked about it, his response was "no comment". People better get ready, because if that's the policy stance that this administration takes, get ready for more attacks against national supply chains, services, and infrastructure that affects the country... not just an individual business.

I guess the #metoo is over then?
"“Harassment is not making someone feel uncomfortable — that is not harassment. If I just made you feel uncomfortable, that is not harassment. That’s you feeling uncomfortable,” Cuomo said."
Get that? His harassment of you is just him making you feel uncomfortable and that's okay.
He's got that big D though... you know the one... the (D)emocrat.... yea...
