I take it, you aren’t aware that section 230 affords us a lot of freedoms to speak our minds. If we didn’t have it, we wouldn’t have places like this to shit on each other.
What some conservatives haven't figured out yet is that if you repeal Section 230, conservative sites like Parler or Gab would cease to exist.

Despite the conspiracy theories around Big Tech being out to get conservatives, they've actually been turning a blind eye to a lot of what has been going on with Parler and far right publications because it's good business. Google, Apple, and Amazon had been warning Parler for weeks that it was in violation of the ToS and needed to do more to moderate its content. Then an actual terrorist attack happened that was partially planned on Parler.

The reason why everyone dropped Parler is they didn't want to deal with the PR liability that comes from being associated with an app that ignores content that calls for violence and helps people plan for successful domestic terrorism. (Gee, go figure)

If social media platforms had legal liability on top of it for the conspiracy theories that flourish on the right, calls for violence, etc. They'd get a heck of a lot more serious about content moderation, and no one would ever touch anything like Parler ever again. The founders of Parler would never have created it because it could literally land them in jail. You wouldn't be able to post things that encourage people not to wear masks or to ignore COVID. You'd never have been able to run with "Stop the Steal".

So yeah. Conservatives need to be VERY careful about what they wish for.

Because they just might get it.
