If you can honestly look at this grand experiment renewed in the face of global calamity and only see politics, I pity you.
Then consider me pitied. If you can honestly look at the data from this grand constitutional overreach and destruction of livelihoods over a cold that only killed 0.06% of our population in an entire year and not see any reason for concern, then I pity you.

The following is an updated report on PC's Most Retarded, as voted by the jury of their peers here on PC using the rep system, #1 being the most retarded with the most negative rep. The fact that the last name on this list is Iorake Warhammer at #14 should give the rest of you pause. Seriously.

For the record I pity you because you repeat such arithmetically untenable claims; you're not that bad at math, but you willingly pretend you are, it's hard to watch.

You're right, actually. We're now up four more 1/100ths of a percent to 0.1%. Thanks for pointing that out.

34,157 people died from flu in all of 2018. COVID has killed 334,239 in the US with 7 days left in the year. We are losing 3000 people a day right now so add another 20k to that figure.

Comparing that number to the total population may make it seem miniscule but I don't think our hospitals, first responders, healthcare workers, and families of the dead feel its miniscule.

It doesn't "seem" miniscule, it "IS" miniscule. Certainly not worth ruining the lives of the other 327,600,000 people. It's an acceptable loss. That's not cruel. That's pragmatic. You may need to look up that definition.

Yeah, ignoring it does not seem pragmatic at all. Ignoring it is neglegent bordering on criminal if not genocidal.

Pragmatic is wearing a mask, social distancing, washing your hands, and getting tested.

I'll certainly allow you to have your view of pragmatism in this situation if you and your kind are willing to let me have mine. You know, freedom. I've no issue with folks taking these precautions. Just don't presume to tell me what I need to do in my own situation by mandating masks and closing schools, businesses, etc.
