Okay so first, based on Sweden's own studies, the
lack of lockdown contributed to their MUCH higher death rate , as compared to other Nordic countries who went into lockdown. They also have universal health care.
Also Sweden didn't have a President and one of its major political parties intentionally spreading misinformation about COVID and literally stopping cities and towns from engaging in mask mandates and social distancing rules.
Secondly,
no the CDC did NOT "revise its death numbers". But a bunch of posts on social media- which have subsequently been taken down and which were linked to QAnon- made that erroneous claim. And no. the CDC saying that 6% of COVID deaths had no co-morbidities is not the same thing as saying COVID didn't kill 94% of those people.
And yes, our information about this
brand new pandemic has been changing rapidly as we've discovered more and more, but it's INCREDIBLY contagious. That's why we went into lockdown. And pointing to the fact that lockdown is working as a reason why COVID "isn't that bad" is insane.
And by the way, the
FDA revoked its emergency use authorization for HCQ for a reason. Several in fact:
