He has been hit with sexual assault allegations, he was accused of comparing Bernie and his supporters to Nazis (although everyone except for the eternally outraged knew what he meant but honestly fuck him), and just a few days ago he mistook Tim Scott for Jamie Harrison, a bald black Democrat who is running against Tim Scott.
Normally I would give people the benefit of the doubt in the case of "OMG! He thinks all black people look alike!" but Tim Scott was at a South Carolina Trump rally standing next to Lindsey Graham and here is dipshit Matthews speaking directly to Jamie Harrison "That's you there! You're a bald black man and that's a bald black man at a Trump rally! That must be you!" Okay that isn't exactly what Matthews said, but he might as well have.
