I’m glad that there is a bill that forces politicians to vote whether or not a President has that type of power. It’s not veto proof, so gives the President some time to get the wall started.. and also has a record of these politicians vote for future lols.

NY increased the minimum wage to 15 dollars an hour which is affecting NYC first. Some companies, especially restaurants, can't afford to increase their worker's salaries by that much so they are letting some people go. Now NYC is discussing making it illegal for companies to fire someone unless they have just cause. If someone is fired they can either go through arbitration or sue their former employer, adding even more costs to the employer even if they win.

So first they say you have to increase everyone's wages, when companies are like "Okay...but we'll have to let some people go if we want to stay in business" they then say "No you can't fire someone for no reason!"

It's like NY is begging businesses to stay out of their state.

Oh wait, that's exactly what happened with Amazon.

What they'll probably do instead is cut those people down to like 1 hour a week or something. They're not fired, so no lawsuit.

Where exactly in NYC do you think can't afford to pay its employees $15 an hour? Even if you're commuting from outside the city, a two bedroom apartment in Jersey costs about $1500 a month and it costs $32 every day (plus parking) to take the train into the city. And you can't live near NYC in Jersey anymore because places like Jersey City are now spillover from Manhattan. It's just as expensive to live there as it is to live in the city. We pay $6500 a month for a tiny warehouse in Long Island City (about the size of a small McDonalds if you took out the ovens and such), and that's the CHEAP part of NYC. Link to the street view at the bottom.

And NJ now also has a minimum $15 an hour wage. Upstate New York is one thing, but NYC was largely paying people $15 an hour anyway, if only that little.

Make minimum wage $1,000,000 an hour and everyone will be rich!

Well, this is what happens when you put a bunch of soyboy and uneducated liberal idiots who are out of touch which the reality of life in charge of things. Maybe they can have a night of rage where they all scream at the sky about how affordable it is to live in the cesspool they created? Then lets talk about how everyone isn't paying their "fair share", propose a tax on the rich and large companies, drive THEM out of NY and then we can all live on the streets in our own feces together... AMIRITE?

LA, SF, NYC, DC, Minneapolis... all just idiots living in their own bubble of ignorance.

I'm not saying just give everybody tons of money as a baseline. What I'm saying is, if you were working in NYC, you were almost certainly already making $15 an hour unless you were at some sketchy under the table business in Chinatown or going-out-of-business off-brand electronics store, and even then, you're probably getting room and board and your boss is a member of your family.

Why do you assume all businesses in NYC were already paying their employees 15 dollars an hour prior to this minimum wage hike? Are these businesses just lying about the people they are laying off now or what?

I don't know if they're lying. What are the stats you're pulling from and who's reporting them?

What I'm saying is that I've lived and worked in that area all my life, from the bottom to the top(well, middle), and even working on a farm at the age of 12 in Jersey, where it's cheaper, I made close to $15 an hour. You can't afford to rent a cardboard box in Hoboken on less than $15 an hour and work in NYC. Half your paycheck would get wiped out just commuting back and forth.

I'm not sure this is political, but it makes me laugh.

The rich are paying to get their kids into USC, because someone sold them a load of shit it's a good school. LMAO. Now they have bonds greater than some of the worst pieces of shits in DC.

The Hollywood elite are literally so far out of touch with reality, they will spend half a million dollars to give the APPEARANCE their children are in college. These are the "leaders" of the liberal movements.

One of these criminals children had to get off the USC board members billionaires yacht while her mom was being charged.

Meanwhile, Jussie Smollett pleaded not guilty today.

Again, you are welcome, Virginia. Two blackface white dudes and a rapist can't stay in the news with all this bullshit going on.
