Agree with that, but it does also require people moving to take those jobs. That hasn't happened in a long time.

It's not practically possible to deport 11 million people, so who knows what the hell is going to happen.

You can make it so uncomfortable that they deport themselves. Stop sanctuary cities, enforce the labor laws, stop the flow of cash going out of the US and go after employers that hire them.

We have a work visa program. We have ways of bringing people into this country to do these jobs.. use those mechanisms instead of victimizing illegals.

Will a reform of that nature pass though? Expansion of low-skill work visas is the way around this, but the quota needs to be enlarged by Congress. That was all in the CIR package that failed previously. Does it suddenly pass now that Trump is going to be President? Not seeing it, but maybe I'm reading this wrong.

That is the big scary problem. A party has full control of the executive branch. They can do any crazy idea they want and push it down on us.

You dont need bipartisan support or the party of no. You have bush era coincidences and a similar idea to cut taxes. When you have full executive power majority you have to be restrained and i dont see either party with this position not just blasting through their equity immediately.

Repeal the affordable care act? Likely. 20 million uninsured. Good for some, bad for others, a regression without a true replacement.

Cut taxes on the wealthy? We already did. Lets double it! Great recession 2.0?

Roe v. Wade. Gone?

Patriot act 2.0? Drones over America? Who knows.

This is why the other half of America is scared. The Republican half seemed angry.

I hope they can deliver, but this feels like Bush all over again right down to the stunner of a defeat.

Self-deportation? It was a laughable concept then when Romney proposed it, and it's a laughable concept now.

And how exactly do you plan to stop remittances? Are you saying legal residents would be prevented from sending cash to overseas residents as well?

Actually not that hard if they use a legal means to do so such as Western Union, make them have some sort of ID to prove they are here legally and to send money and if you are sending it to Mexico, Central or South America, then charge a fee to do so. Pretty simple actually. The one thing it cannot capture is when they use the means that is more common in the Middle East where they give money to someone here in the US and someone there gives money to the person it is being sent to.
