He's still alive, hence the resistant rather than explosion proof. Though I'm sure after generations of breeding the blast resistant humans into the bloodline we will reach blast proof. Considering we have only had the ability to use explosives for 700 years or so, another 10,000 years of breeding blast resistant humans and we will be there, I'm sure of it.
