He's done amazing things for the insurance and firearms industries. If I were invested in them I'd want him to be President for life.

That's what happens when you think you have a good idea and don't care how it's implemented, as long as it's implemented.

It's a terrible piece of legislation.. and because people now have this handout, it'll never be taken away. And if you try to change it to make it sort of sustainable.. you are a racist, or sexist, or ageist and you need to be run out of town.

Employer plan before, and employer plan now. We switched carriers in 2012, but no other real changes. Premiums were 2% down last year, and will be 5% up this year, pretty much all due to claims experience.

The Affordable Care Act is an abysmal failure for people who pay their own bills.
Humana's been in trouble for the past few years and is a target for acquisition. Switch carriers.

ER visits weren't free. ("free"? seriously, you know better.) Uncompensated care just made healthcare more expensive for everybody.

Well isn't that the argument people made before Obamacare, that people just went to the ER and didn't pay their bill?

Isn't that the very definition of free?

Yes, my point exactly. If one can't afford health insurance then it's unlikely one will be able to pay the outrageous astronomically inflated er bill. Bankruptcy is a common choice, and since the hospital can't ethically turn anyone away, why wouldn't people keep returning to get their money's worth so to speak once they're completely broke? So obummer fixes the escalating healthcare cost problem by forcibly taking the money from those unable to afford it in the first place and insurance companies make a killing. USA! USA! USA!

    Pre-existing conditions.

I can switch, but it will cost me even more money.

Ouch. Since you're running a business, you're on small group insurance? Or you doing individual insurance?

Right, because bankruptcy and ruined credit come with no costs whatsoever.

You sound like you're arguing for single-payer.
