My blind 82 year old dad has this tech in his car, get with the times. The battery died in my car key, I'm unlocking old school these days. I'm like a freaking pioneer taming the wilderness. How manly is that?

Then replace it! Most transmitters have user replaceable batteries even if accessing it isn't always immediately obvious (mine requires removing the emergency key first for instance).

So Changeling.... what you just said is... you have an emergency key... in your car key?

Someone clue me in, that seems a bit backasswards.
