Some recruiters are such idiots. It's fine if you email me out of the blue, and it's fine if you tell me about this position that I'm overqualified for and for which I would never consider leaving my company. Just respect it when I tell you so, and if you have a more suitable position, let me know all of the details when I ask for them (including compensation, culture, work-life balance, etc.). Don't then expect me to spend my time coming to your office to meet with you to find a job that I'm not even looking for in the first place, before you're willing to give up the details like compensation, culture, work-life balance, etc. You don't need to meet with me to find out what I would consider making a move for.
