My friend wanted me to enter a promotion/contest with her. Basically, you go and purchase an ice cream product at all 43 participating ice cream shops throughout the state of NH, and get a sticker from each one. You have about two months to complete this. Then, all the people who completed it will be put in for a drawing for a 1 year membership at a crappy health club.

Doing the math, that's about $200 of ice cream and a minimum $500 of direct vehicle expenses if you schedule your route efficiently. All for the very real possibility of getting much fatter, and the slight chance of winning a $240 health club membership. On weekends, during peak foliage season, sharing the road with leaf peepers! This is pretty much my definition of hell.

I told her she could count on me for a single road trip with a single stop for ice cream.

Yeah, the average person doesn't really have access to the plastic surgeon, dietician, personal trainer and makeup artist on a daily basis. At this stage of my life, I'm looking for "generally nice, and somewhat fit." It's not that I've lowered my standards, I just tend to value different aspects these days.
