Self-reported automated telephone interviews which then extrapolate their results to be the average for the entire nation always (always!) have methodological issues. Especially PPP. This is it exactly. No single person's opinion can be "more important" than anyone else in our society. That's how it's built. Some people are going to be offended no matter what you do. Some people are making it up, some people are not. If we "cater to the offended", we open the door for the sort of pettiness mankind is legendary for.

An odd part about this comment suddenly occurred to me last night. Even putting aside the fact that this government tells its citizens exactly that, is this even a case of that? No government official is telling Mr. Snyder he has to change the name, or even that he can't use slurs. They're only telling him he can't trademark such language. Is that an infringement on freedom of speech? I haven't trademarked this post, does it therefore not constitute free speech?
