If you'd shut up long enough for me to put two sentences together you'd already know. A person is more likely to look for a job when they don't have one (opt-in) rather than leave their current job on the chance of another (opt-out). This is true even on the level of clicking boxes, imagine how much more dramatic the effect is when the cost is employment.
