I like the term "normal" very much.

I don't mind being called a feminist either though. I just associate the term with a certain chip-on-shoulder militancy that I think I lack.

Maybe it's my inherently lazy nature but being a feminist seems like a lot of work to me.

We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. We must remember always that accusation is not proof and that conviction depends upon evidence and due process of law. We will not walk in fear, one of another. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason, if we dig deep in our history and our doctrine, and remember that we are not descended from fearful men. Edward R. Murrow

I don't know what that's from so the reference is lost on me.

Nevermind that I don't like having to give up my lunch break to go pick up jewelry for a wedding which has utterly consumed the rest of my family, I can deal with that to an extent. So I go and pick up this necklace. Looks pretty gaudy, but in an Indian Hindu wedding sort of way (my sister's fiance's father is Hindu, so we're having a Hindu ceremony for his family). Hindu weddings are very elaborate, lots of clothing changes, lots of jewelry, lots of everything. But, the general implication is the jewelry is imitation jhumki stuff, because you need a lot of it.
My wife went to a Hindu wedding and they even had an indian costume for her. That shit is srs.

Why would someone dress as Pocahontas for a Hindu wedding?
