It's not global and prices vary from state to state, country to country. If they really wanted to do something about it they would.

Hey how about that. Almost as if in areas where there has been an outbreak of bird flu the farmers have had to cull (you do know "cull" means "kill" right?) their chickens to prevent the spread of bird flu, which would affect the local prices of eggs, and in areas where there hasn't been an outbreak of bird flu they haven't had to cull chickens so egg prices haven't changed much.

Weird how that works.
