Washington Examiner misquoted, but fucking surprise there. What they said was the exact opposite of what you're implying about troop levels.

Actually their recommendations was the drawdown stay above 2,000 troops ONLY until August 31st when the mission was complete. All three pointed out in lockstep that having troops in Afghanistan would not have resulted in a betterment of the Afghanistan position, would have cost far more American lives for little gain and each of them said they recommended unanimously against it.

Because everything I have read so far points to them saying 2500 troops should remain in Afghanistan, they didn't qualify that with "ONLY until the August 31st withdrawal deadline."

If that were the case why is Chief Liar Jen Psaki doing damage control by suggesting Biden wasn't really a lying sack of shit when he said no top generals told him to keep troops behind after August 31?
