The key is that "Hispanics" isn't a voting bloc, and Presidential elections aren't based on the popular vote. Some Hispanics are more liberal, some are more conservative. President Bush received the majority of the Hispanic vote in 2000 Florida, because those Hispanics happen to be mostly Cubans who are more conservative, and he therefore won the election. The last two Presidential elections were annihilations so Florida wouldn't have mattered anyway, but we're still talking about 29 electoral votes that the Republicans are needlessly sacrificing. I'm sure there are other states with similar sub-demographics, just not as pronounced.

It's true, so think it through. Why are they manufacturing stories when they have perfectly good ways to attack Obama? What if it has less to do with cogent attacks and more to do with the content of the attacks themselves? Take drones. The Republican base is pro-drone, so they're probably not going to respond to attacks on that front, right? What if everything actually bad about Obama is conservative-leaning? (He is a centrist, logically he would represent values on both sides near to the middle.)
It could be ridiculous, but if it was, why would they have to invent attacks? It takes a lot of work to invent something untrue, I should know. Much easier to just parrot the truth.

I'm not sure how you define recovery and I know better than to ask. For my own interest, if we measure how long it takes for real GDP to reach the previous peak, we get:
Great Depression - 7 years
Post WW2 - 6 years
Mid 70s - 2 years
Great Recession - 3.5 years

America, stop pushing. I know what I'm doing.
