Androidpk: "The special counsel was put together to investigate Trump's obstruction of justice for firing Comey!"
Me: "Hey look at this document that spells out exactly what the special counsel is supposed to investigate, which has nothing to do with obstruction of justice over firing James Comey."
Latrin: "Ackchyually...if you just read these three bold words out of context you will see that Androidpk was right."
The Special Counsel is authorized to conduct the investigation confinned by then-FBI
Director James 8. Corney in testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on
Intelligence on March 20, 2017, including:
(i) any links and/or coordination bet ween the Russian government and individuals
associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump; and
(ii) any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation; and
(iii) any other matters within the scope of 28 C.F.R. § 600.4(a).
§ 600.4 Jurisdiction.
(a)Original jurisdiction. The jurisdiction of a Special Counsel shall be established by the Attorney General. The Special Counsel will be provided with a specific factual statement of the matter to be investigated. The jurisdiction of a Special Counsel shall also include the authority to investigate and prosecute federal crimes committed in the course of, and with intent to interfere with, the Special Counsel's investigation, such as perjury, obstruction of justice, destruction of evidence, and intimidation of witnesses; and to conduct appeals arising out of the matter being investigated and/or prosecuted.
Tgo admits he's a partisan troll.
Of course I'm partisan, but the troll thing is all up in yo head.
You went from stating this investigation is in part about Trump's "obstruction of justice" into Comey's firing then quote this:
As if it backs up what you say. Like I told Latrinsorm, sure, if you just look at those 3 words out of context you might be onto something. But try to read. I know it's hard for you, pk, but make an effort to read.Quote:

It says Mueller can investigate federal crimes committed in the course of his investigation, AND WITH THE INTENT TO INTERFERE with his investigation, including obstruction of justice.
How does one obstruct an investigation before the investigation even began? Use your words like a big boy.
You been reading so much fake news that you engage in it yourself now.
Useless troll is useless.
Yeah, I'm totally over my head by pointing out how stupid you're being. Try harder, troll.
Robert Mueller and his team are focusing on the days after White House officials were told Michael Flynn was vulnerable to Russian blackmail, NBC News' Carol Lee and Julia Ainsley report, citing "two people familiar with Mueller's investigation".
Why it matters: This means Mueller's team could be working to determine if Trump obstructed justice and is likely seeking out what President Trump knew about Flynn's conversations with former Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak, and subsequently, when Trump learned Flynn lied about them.

In before more disappointment.
In before more retardation from time4pk.
You can deny it all you want, Mueller is investigating obstruction of justice.
Oh I'm sure he is. His investigation went off the rails months ago and he seems to think he's invincible at this point. With a public thirsting for blood, you know, people like you, he probably feels he has to bring something back so he doesn't look like a complete fraud and waste of money.
Did Fox news tell you that?
You didn't ask what the President's intent was, you asked, quote, "How does one obstruct an investigation before the investigation even began?" I explained to you how one obstructs an investigation before the investigation began, because you asked how one obstructs an investigation before the investigation began. This is how using our words works. You ask a question, you get an answer to that question, you don't like the answer, you cry.
Since you have now asked what the President's intent was, I will be happy to answer that as well. (See? You ask a question, you get an answer to that question.) The President's intent was to obstruct justice. He did not and could not know that Robert Mueller specifically would head the investigation, he did not and could not know what specific wrongdoing had occurred (if any), and he did not and could not know whether any investigation would even take place. He nevertheless intended and acted to obstruct justice.
This is the part where you don't like the answer and cry.
It's in what both you and Androidpk quoted:
You and pk are really, really, REALLY bad at this. Show us on this doll where the mean Trump touched you.Quote:

Here is as good an explanation in clear terms as I think may be possible as to why the hell this whole "investigation" is a sham and why thinking people don't trust the government.
https://youtu.be/2DkrOjQ0lkI
I wish Trey had gone for AG. I could see him gutting the FBI upper echelons real fast over crap like this. Pretty much all of the government needs a massive bloodletting to clean out the crap and RIP (retired in place) people.
His entire argument is predicated on a conspiracy theory that Mueller is a libtard, FBI is a corrupted political organization and the DOJ (minus Sessions and Trump appointees) are rigging the game against Trump.
So no, it's not a good explanation in clear terms. It's bald faced partisan politics and I'm disgusted that you guys are attacking FBI agents, IC specialists who defend our nation and other patriots in service.
Every day I see these posts and can't fucking believe that 30 some odd percent of Americans are totally down with this shit.
Right. Your self righteous indignation over attacking a corrupt FBI agent continues to fall on deaf ears. Failing to step aside when you have a personal conflict of interest in an investigation is not serving the US.
this doesn't even get into the whole bit about people being offered money to accuse Trump of sexual harassment, the fact at least one of Moore's accusers admitted to making the whole thing up, and the continued rotation of the media from "Russian collusion" to "Sexual harassment accusations" to "Dementia" and now the latest crackpot scheme of complaining that he drinks Diet Coke. Everyday when I see this televised shitshow at work on the break room TVs I can't believe that more than 5% of Americans swallow this shit.
Rocktar sounding unhinged as he usually does..
What conflict of interest? There isn't one. That's a fantasy. Mueller is a GOP appointee as FBI director, Marine officer and combat veteran. His investigators are allowed to despise their target if they wish. Most LEO probably do.
No one's paying Trumps victims to accuse him. That's another dumb ass conspiracy theory. None of Moores accusers admitted to making the whole thing up. That's retarded. As for attacking his infirmities; well that's just precious that you worry about something like this. DJT don't mind making fun of cripples or Hillary for her physical stumbles. Obviously the fitness of POTUS is fair fucking game for the people of this country to know about.
^^ Proof positive that you can't fix stupid. I and others have outlined Mueller's poor actions. And yes, in an investigation, if you have a personal bias, you should recuse yourself from it since you cannot be impartial. Many of the investigators, lawyers and staff that Mueller picked have been shown to be embroiled in all of this mess and yet, they are still in the mix. The rest, well, I can type and present factual evidence until I am blue in the face and neither you, time4pk or the other Socialist/Libtard drones will ever catch on.
What mess? What conflict? You're saying these agents are doubles who have been turned from the oaths by which they've lived their lives and are now secret deep state agitators all conspiring together to bring down Trump. All agents have personal bias because they're human beings. And please do remember: Robert Mueller is superb choice to be special counsel. His reputation is impeccable for honesty and integrity. Media should now calm down
Obviously Mueller is a closet-liberal and he's being funded by Soros to take down the Republicans.
I got to get me one of those sweet George Soros gigs. Apparently he's employs all the protesters. I wonder what kind of benefits hes got.
Rocktar thinks that having an opinion that he doesn't agree with equals corruption. Rocktar has a lot of bad opinions so not surprised he thinks anyone who knows their head from their ass is corrupt.
Lolololol @ you still buying into the long debunked “Trump mocked a cripple” narrative while claiming to be informed.
https://youtu.be/CsaB3ynIZH4
It's not debunked. What the hell's wrong with you? You got his cock so deep down your throat you're eyes are too watered up to see the truth. I swear. You fucks will go to any length to rationalize trumps problems.
Everybody knows an investigation is corrupt unless the person being investigated is liked by all of the people investigating him.
That's why only Democrat Hillary supporters were allowed to be part of those investigations into her.
Michael Flynn's plea bargain. What were the charges that he got reduced down to lying to the FBI? And what did he agree to do in exchange for a lesser charge? I suppose we'll find out soon enough.
Asked Friday whether he believes the Russian government meddled with the 2016 presidential election, U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis reportedly replied: “Yes, I believe they did.” The comment comes in contradiction of President Trump, who has at times called the reports of Kremlin interference to be a “hoax,” a “made-up story,” or has said he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin when he denies his government did any such thing.
Either Mattis is trying to get fired on purpose or he's a closet liberal in league with Soros and the Clintons!
Isn't it funny how you're describing trust in our intelligence community, and the evidence they have, as an "opinion," as if it were somehow subjective? And isn't it weird that the one politically motivated to deny events we have evidence for is the only one denying it?
And FYI, it isn't just Mattis. It's also Pompeo. It's also Tillerson. It's also Kelly. And anyone else with a brain. But, sure, "opinions."
"I believe..." equals facts now? Feel free to explain how that works.Quote:
“Yes, I believe they did.”
He also didn't say he believes Russia meddled in the election to swing it in Trump's favor. He could be referring to colluding with Hillary for all you know, or just to create chaos in general where both sides point the fingers at each other while Putin watches and laughs and faps.
Would it make your fragile little feelings feel better if I said "belief" instead of "opinion?" Because one thing neither of those represent is facts.
Or are you with time4pk thinking Mattis is trying to get fired and/or is a closet liberal?
Let's give this a whirl:
Or maybe it's possible that different people have different beliefs even when they're on the same team.
I do sincerely hope your feelings feel better now.
Spoiler Alert: When someone asks the Secretary of Defense whether or not the "believe" something, they're not asking "do you have faith -- akin to spiritual faith, i.e., despite not having evidence -- (X) occurred," they're asking: "Is it the stance of the Secretary of Defense that (X) did occur?" Or "Is the IC credible when they assert that (X) occurred?" So yes, in that sense, "believe" does "equal facts," in the same way that someone who says "Yes, I believe in evolution or the shape of the earth" isn't speaking to some magical, subjective experience based on belief.
The fact that this has to be explained to you -- that you're either so mind-bogglingly retarded, or simply intellectually dishonest -- is sad but unsurprising.
Your tantrum aside, there's a reason why Trump's CIA director, the Secretary of Defense, the Attorney General, the WH chief of staff, the FBI director, etc., all agree that Russia interfered in the election: Because it's been established beyond all doubt, and you're sitting here shitting out apologetics for someone who (correctly, in your case) knows his supporters are retarded partisans who can't see up from down.Quote:

Also feel free to elaborate on which parts of my post were me throwing a tantrum. I’m genuinely curious to hear what kind of retarded shit you come up with. There is a difference between "I believe" and "I know", Ashliana. I know, I know, shocking.
Spoiler Alert: This was the meltdown over semantics. Yours. That was your tantrum.
And no, the collusion of the Trump team has already been established, for a fact, by Trump Jr's Twitter disclosures. That, specifically, is why Trump's lawyer started arguing "but collusion isn't a crime!"
Your poor comprehension of English or intellectual dishonesty only reflects on you. When someone says "I believe in evolution," they aren't speaking to an evidence-free faith in it; they're speaking to knowledge. Nobody who isn't totally full of shit sees a question: "Did the Russians interfere in the election?" with a response of "Yes, I believe they did" as a statement of faith. Try again, dipshit.Quote:

Your poor understanding of Mattis reflects. If he knew for a fact that Russia interfered, he'd straight up say "Russia interefered with the US election." not "I believe". You are allowed to think a little bit there, Ashliana.
But yeah, you'll probably come back with your childish name calling because you realize you are incorrect, but refuse to admit it.
From the FB schills that were confirmed as Russian, they sorta promoted both Candidates with BS ads to make both sides hate each other. More to sow disorder rather than champion one clear winner.
In Gelston's parallel universe:
Reporter: "Oh, hello, Secretary of Defense, representative of our government, responsible for our security! Did a foreign adversary interfere in our election?"
Mattis: "Yes, I believe they did."

Mattis: "But I didn't say that -- aren't you a native English sp-"
Reporter: "NO EVIDENCE. Time to report that to the PC! Herpdedeerp!"
Super convincing. You're not at all completely, irredeemably retarded.
I'm going to have to take points away from you due to lack of double font enhancements. Not a single bold/italics or underline/italics or bold/underline. And don't even get me started with the TOTAL lack of the Grand Poobah of all.. the bold/underline/italics/capital.

You don’t seem to understand what a tantrum is. Which is ironic since you’re constantly throwing them.
Trump went on the offensive over the holiday weekend. He's held back long enough, politely declining to criticize the Deep State. But no more..
Except that in this case, they didn't use subpoenas and court orders in most cases. Next, the DNC e-mails showed their opinions and that they did cheat/collude in order to get debate questions and that they did collude to keep Bernie out. The Trump e-mails show they asked for meetings with foreign government officials and others in their position as agents of an incoming administration which is both legal, expected and widely practiced. The difference is that one shows a group intentionally trying to marginalize their own voting block and the American people and the other shows a group trying to take steps to govern.
But Hillary could probably tie you up, piss and shit down your throat and force you molest children and animals and you would still kiss her ass and thank her for the opportunity to serve.
If there's one thing we can all agree on it's that Andy is in LOVE with Hilary, just look at all his posts during the primaries vehemently supporting Bernie Sanders.
Okay, well aside from those, look at his posts after the primaries, when he repeatedly insisted that Hilary would and should go to actual jail.
Hm...

Is it fair to Trump to have black people on the jury? That would be like having a Mexican judge. The jurors and judge need to come from a group that Trump hasn't offended. No Muslims, Mexicans, women, blacks, Asians, disabled, POWs, or transgendereds.
For some reason, this discussion of the grand jury in D.C. reminds me of that time Certain People made the ridiculous claim that the crowd at Trump's inauguration in D.C. was smaller than the crowd at Obama's inauguration in D.C.
Bannon remarked mockingly: “The three senior guys in the campaign thought it was a good idea to meet with a foreign government inside Trump Tower in the conference room on the 25th floor – with no lawyers. They didn’t have any lawyers.
“Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad shit, and I happen to think it’s all of that, you should have called the FBI immediately.”
Bannon went on, Wolffe writes, to say that if any such meeting had to take place, it should have been set up “in a Holiday Inn in Manchester, New Hampshire, with your lawyers who meet with these people”. Any information, he said, could then be “dump[ed] … down to Breitbart or something like that, or maybe some other more legitimate publication”.
Bannon added: “You never see it, you never know it, because you don’t need to … But that’s the brain trust that they had.”
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/..._reddit_is_fun
Sometimes I think Bannon is smart and other times I think he's just an aggressive loudmouth who isn't afraid to sound crazy so people will assume that anyone being so brazen must know what they're talking about.
Steve who? Oh, that Steve. The low level staffer who worked somewhere in the White House for a short time. Nobody can even remember what his job was.
Quote:
Statement from the President of the United States:
Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my Presidency. When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind. Steve was a staffer who worked for me after I had already won the nomination by defeating seventeen candidates, often described as the most talented field ever assembled in the Republican party.
Now that he is on his own, Steve is learning that winning isn’t as easy as I make it look.

Wasn't Bannon the main supporter of Roy Moore that talked Trump into basically endorsing him? Yeah, such a great guy.
And Trump's predictable response..
President Donald Trump denounced his former top strategist, Steve Bannon, on Wednesday, saying that he “lost his mind” after leaving the White House last summer.
“When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind,” Trump said of Bannon in a statement the White House issued. “Now that he is on his own, Steve is learning that winning isn’t as easy as I make it look.”

Trump's lawyers are trying to avoid having him being interviewed in person by Mueller's special counsel. This may be the smartest thing they do in this case.

Just after leaving, Trump turns and looks at his lawyers, who are aghast and white as sheets. He grimaces in what looks like an attempt at a smile.
They can't let him be interviewed. He's incapable of avoiding perjury. If they get him talking he'll hang himself for sure. It's shitty but they'll get it set up so that he can answer in writing then they will write his answers for him. He'll still attempt to sabotage it by tweeting but they should be able to protect him.
Honestly at this point I don't understand why anyone, including leftist nut jobs, point their fingers at Trump. For the first time in his life Michael Moore was right about something and you still cry about Trump.

Today, Sen. Feinstein released the 312 page Fusion GPS transcripts that everybody has been talking about for the past week. So far, this is the part knowledgeable people are discussing..
Quote:
Q. You said that he told you of the meeting with the FBI in Rome in mid or late September, that he "gave them a full briefing"?
A. A debrief I think is what he probably said, they had debriefed him. I don't remember him articulating the specifics of that. You know, my understanding was that they would have gotten into who his sources were, how he knew certain things, and, you know, other details based on their own intelligence. Essentially what he told me was they had other intelligence about this matter from an internal Trump campaign source and that -- that they -- my understanding was that they believed Chris at this point -- that they believed Chris's information might be credible because they had other intelligence that indicated the same thing and one of those pieces of intelligence was a human source from inside the Trump organization.
Q. And did you have any understanding then or now as to who that human intelligence source from inside the Trump campaign might have been?
MR. LEVY: He's going to decline to answer that question.
MS. SAWYER: On what basis?
MR. SIMPSON: Security.
MR. LEVY: Security.
BY THE WITNESS:
A. We had been really careful -- I was really careful throughout this process to not ask a lot of specific sourcing questions. There are some things I know that I just don't feel comfortable sharing because obviously it's been in the news a lot lately that people who get in the way of the Russians tend to get hurt.
MR. LEVY: And I would just add that there are privileges and obligations that might be implicated in the disclosure of any source related to this matter.
BY MS. SAWYER:
Q. Was this individual also a person who had been a source for Mr. Steele, without identifying who that was?
A. No.
Q. So this was someone independent of Mr. Steele's sources who potentially had information also on the same topics?
A. Yes. I mean, I don't think this implicates any of the issues to say I think it was a voluntary source, someone who was concerned about the same concerns we had.
Although contrary to the testimony, I'm going to guess that Papadopoulos was the inside source.
Trump thinks he won't have to be interviewed by the special counsel. Not sure if he actually believes that or if its his lawyers lying to him again so he doesn't fire Mueller.
You'd be incorrect. No President has ever refused to cooperate. Nixon probably would have been the first, but he went ahead and resigned and was pardoned.
Also, there is a thing called Executive Privilege that grants the Executive branch certain leeway in resisting subpoenas.
He isn't immune to judicial review, but in order to subpeona either the President or materials from the executive Branch it has to be proven that it is 100% necessary and important to the case.
What is more likely to happen, is Trump will get a list of questions and he'll answer them in writing.
https://m.popkey.co/875ce4/9MqEv.gif
EDIT: Sorry I thought you said future presidents.
Bannon was subpoenaed to testify before the special counsel's grand jury.
Bannon and Mueller came to some sort of an agreement and he'll be interviewed by Mueller's team instead of having to appear before the grand jury.
So a judge has denied Mueller's request to have Manaforts trial start in May, saying he doesn't think the trial will start until sometime in September or October. Doesn't exactly bode well for the GOP going into the midterm election in November with this playing out in media during that time frame.
So, there is this memo by the intelligence committee outlining abuses in how the FISA warrant was obtained. Many talking heads in the media and in the Congress who have seen it claim that if made public that many heads would roll and the whole investigation would be shown to be a sham. Who wants to bet on if or when the memo will be declassified? Who all will be embarrassed at the sketchy shit our government has been doing in the shadows to undermine the people's will? How many on both sides will be caught in this dumpster fire?
We've been, and still are, played by Putin and Russia. Some of us moreso than others.
The #SchumerShutdown Hashtag Is Getting A Big Boost From Russian Bots
Quote:
WASHINGTON ― As lawmakers wage a messaging war over who caused the government shutdown, Republicans and the White House are getting a big boost in their efforts to blame Democrats for the mess ― from the Russians.
#SchumerShutdown ― the hashtag that GOP leaders and the White House are using to accuse Democrats of causing the shutdown ― on Sunday night became the top trending hashtag being promoted by Russian bots and trolls on Twitter, according to the Alliance for Securing Democracy, a project led by former top national security officials from both parties.
Here’s a chart by Alliance for Securing Democracy, last updated at 10 p.m. Sunday, showing the #SchumerShutdown hashtag blowing up among Russia-linked influence networks.
https://img.huffingtonpost.com/asset..._720_noupscale
#SchumerShutdown has surpassed #ReleaseTheMemo as the highest trending hashtag among Russian influence campaigns. They seized on that hashtag earlier this month in an effort to pressure Republican lawmakers to release a classified memo written by House GOP aides that allegedly describes abuses in FBI surveillance practices. Conservative organizations like Breitbart and the Daily Caller have given major coverage to the memo, but Democratic lawmakers have denounced it as deeply misleading.
Alliance for Securing Democracy tracks activity from 600 monitored Twitter accountslinked to Russian influence operations. It has found that Russian bots and trolls frequently amplify content attacking the United States, conspiracy theories and misinformation.
Which party is to blame for the shutdown? It’s complicated, but Republicans control Congress and President Donald Trump started this fight in September, when he unilaterally ended the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
Yeah Wrathbringer, stop colluding with Russians. I bet your inbox on the PC is full of messages from Putin. Why are you hiding your inbox? WHY AREN'T YOU BEING TRANSPARENT!?!?!?!?!?!

Sessions need to deny this quick.
Jeff "I can't recall" Sessions is the latest to have been interviewed by Mueller.
It's been six months since this thread was created. How slowly is this heating up?
WASHINGTON — President Trump ordered the firing last June of Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel overseeing the Russia investigation, according to four people told of the matter, but ultimately backed down after the White House counsel threatened to resign rather than carry out the directive.
The West Wing confrontation marks the first time Mr. Trump is known to have tried to fire the special counsel. Mr. Mueller learned about the episode in recent months as his investigators interviewed current and former senior White House officials in his inquiry into whether the president obstructed justice.
BTW giving the order to fire Mueller in itself is obstruction of justice.
Good thing he never actually gave the order to fire him.
I imagine if Trump ordered Mueller to be fired, he'd be fired. I'm sure he wanted him fired, he even made the case as to why to McGahn, but McGahn didn't feel there was a case, so he backed off.... You know, because his Counsel advised him. Wanting to fire someone, but ultimately not doing it, is not obstruction in anyway.

Mueller III, the special counsel overseeing the Russia investigation, according to four people told of the matter, but ultimately backed down after the White House counsel threatened to resign rather than carry out the directive.
Notice the bolded part. Trump didn't inquire about firing Mueller, he ordered it, and the order was refused, with WH counsel saying they'd resign, making Trump back down.
Yes, a webzine said Trump ordered something. Big whoop. I bet the conversation happened like this
Trump: I'm going to fire Mueller
McGahn: That'd be a bad idea.
Trump: No, he is gone call him up.
McGahn: You shouldn't do this.
Trump: No, he has a conflict of interest. Get him on the line.
McGahn: Mr President, you hired me to be your Counsel. Take my counsel, otherwise I don't know what I'm doing here and I'll go.
Trump: Okay, okay, you made your point. I won't fire him.
McGahn: The Guggeinheim is offering us a golden toilet.
Trump: Score.
And also, there isn't any obstruction. Nothing happened. Mueller wasn't fired. No one told him he was fired. He wasn't effected in anyway.
The New York Times is a webzine?
Also, obstruction of justice does not need to be successful in order to be considered obstruction of justice. Trump asking Comey to drop the investigation on Flynn was obstruction of justice even though the FBI didn't drop its investigation against Flynn. Take some courses on government, noob.
You can bet Mueller will be interviewing McGahn if he already hasn't.
Except that nothing that Trump did involving this supposed order had any effect on Mueller or the investigation in anyway.
On what grounds? Because he talked Trump out of firing him? That would make it a conflict of interest for sure.
Doesn't matter.
