That's the whole point, people will be creative. A 10 round magazine law would have done absolutely nothing to stop any recent mass murders (we already know this because we have already been through this). We can't buy bombs and yet we continue to have "Christmas day" style bombings.

You can write only a certain class of article, post, message or communication on an approved means of communication, at a certain speed, even face to face if you go outside outside of the limits, you go to prison, we take away your kids and you can never hold certain jobs again. (This would represent bans on certain classes of firearms, carry restrictions and possession laws)


Before you can communicate, you must be at least 18 or maybe 21 depending on what type of communication you want to do, you need to pass a background check and in some places, wait up to 15 days to communicate and depending on the state you may be limited to the number of new communication channels you can purchase/access every month. even if that communication may save your life. (arbitrary waiting periods and purchase limits)


Now we want to limit you to only writing or speaking 10 words at a time, any more or even having the capability to communicate any more at one time and we will send you to jail. (magazine bans)


You can't say certain words ever unless you are a police officer or you go to prison. (bans on certain types of ammunition)


You can't use a megaphone, loud speaker or yell really loud even if you don't hurt anyone or you go to prison. (bans on explosives)

The Second Amendment was only meant for the military, that's why it says militia in it. The founders came off fighting a bloody and desperate war for independence where every one of them would be executed if caught. There was no paid, professional army, the people WERE the army, they were the militia. If previous SCOTUS hadn't been such pussies for hundreds of years, the individual right to own firearms would have been affirmed long ago and this would not even come up but here it is, idiots still trot this dead horse out over and over. In addition, the militia clause is as an explanation, not a limit based on standards of English language at the time.


But you don't need 30 rounds to hunt with. The Second Amendment has nothing about hunting, it is about being able to defend yourself from a tyrannical government. Period. This was made clear in the Federalist Papers even by those that opposed it.


The Second Amendment was written back when people had muskets, it doesn't apply to military weapons of today. Bullshit, muskets WERE the military weapon of the day. In fact civilians had access to better weapons than the military due to budget restraints. Look up the Pucket Gun. This is the equivalent to saying that the First Amendment only applies to single sheet printing press, hand scribes, face to face communication and town criers and not to TV, radio, the internet, high speed printing, billboards, holograms, the large inflatable wavy arm advertising guys and all that.


Well guns kill people so we need to ban guns to save lives. Books have been written about how stupid and inaccurate this is, here is the short rebuttal. Guns don't kill people, people kill people, until guns become self aware and self actuating guns won't kill anyone on their own. According to the best statistics we have, from 50K to as much as 2 million+ crimes of all types are prevented or stopped in while in commission by citizens with a firearm or threat of firearm. These are NOT ones that involve the shooting of someone else, these are crimes that are stopped without anyone else being hit or injured and most don't even result in a shot being fired. Given that the numbers are bad, if we assume that HALF of these are wrong, then at the every least, firearms prevent 25000 crimes a year. We know that restrictions on firearms coincide with an increase in crime. Chicago, DC, Baltimore and elsewhere have some of the highest crime rates in the country and also have the most restrictive firearm regulations in the country. Then the idiot arguments go "Well they bring guns in from outside the city" if that's the issue, then why don't the places that they get the guns from have similarly high rates of crime?


That ban doesn't affect me so why should I care. Because while it may be a logical fallacy, the slippery slope is a social reality. There are bans proposed for banning semi-automatic firearms of all types. These would include .22 rifles that most people use to hunt small game, shotguns used for hunting foul, all semi-automatic pistols regardless of caliber and so on. Depending on the wording of the ban, they could be applied to revolvers and single trigger double barrel shotguns as well. Society is rife with examples of the slippery slope being followed in cases ranging from gay rights to smoking bans to noise ordinances to zoning and property use to data use and tracking and more. The list of slippery slopes is almost endless.



So in the end, take a bit to read and understand the arguments and then try and present a logical and well reasoned argument that magazine bans and in reality, any kind of firearm ban is legal, effective in reducing crime or saving lives and then, how any of that extends the rights of those who are afraid to infringe over those who are not because that is the root of the matter. People who are afraid want to enforce their will and fear onto others "in the name of children" while either knowingly or willfully advancing tyranny or just being useful idiots. Firearm bans are the early steps to rise of a totalitarian government. Every single case in recorded history has shown that weapon bans lead to this all the way back to the bans on weapons in Roman times.

I never said to change the legal system. I never said appeals should go away or anything like that. If there were any question, new evidence, or potential information to change the original outcome - I hope the system would rightly ensure that it was presented and the person received the proper representation.

If a trial, jury, all appeals found the individual guilty and they were finally sentenced - I wouldn't feel bad, because I didn't make the case - I was only given the option of what punishment should apply to the convicted.

If you feel differently, then it would be your option to choose something differently. Me though? I'm perfectly fine choosing the death penalty for a child molester, rapist, torturer, multiple murder convict, school shooter, etc.

Sorry my beliefs bother you, but we're allowed to have different outlooks.

There is already a partial idea like this built into the system - when a person decides to "press charges" or to not press charges. The individual is making the determination regarding how they want the individual under question legal status to continue.

The story is over 24 hours old and this is the very first time I'm hearing about it. Yet the original allegations were all over the news 24/7 as soon as the "news" broke.

It doesn't look like he has been formally exonerated yet, but it sure as shit looks to be going that way.

I called this from the very beginning because it all just seemed so odd. All of this alleged proof that Matt Gaetz was a sexual predator yet all of the information we ever got was from a leak from within the FBI and then....nothing...for months...almost as if this was nothing more than a smear campaign.

So weird.

Meanwhile the former governor of NY IS a murderer and a sexual predator, with much proof out there for everyone to see, and no exoneration ever coming, and people like Keller will refuse to call him a murderer and a sexual predator because Keller himself is a sexual predator and because the former governor is a Democrat.
