So now, what are they pushing, virtual complete ban of all firearms, firing/banning police and other public employees for striking or refusing to implement the unconstitutional laws, laws so vague that even if you don't own a firearm but own a part of one that you would be a felon and so on. Make no mistake these are insane and unconstitutional laws. I don't know if they are trying to push this insane agenda to try and get people to accept lesser and equally unconstitutional laws as a compromise, if they are just stupid enough to think this is ok and how they want to proceed or if they are trying to provoke a hot civil war. This is the face of the Democrat party today and all these laws have one, singular and sinister purpose. To disarm the people and remove their ability to resist tyranny.

There is no strict interpretation of what qualifies as a mass shooting, so any outlet or research organization can make up whatever qualifiers they want. Is it 3 or more people shot? Sure. 3 or more people just in the area? Some do that. I think if you used 1 qualifier and went through every instance of a shooting in history in the US it would probably be the same per capita.

Registration would be ruled to be the same as requiring registration to vote, so I think that is possible. Insurance would be ruled as a tax, like ObamaCare, so that could pass. Background checks already happen. Training and testing is generally need in most states to concealed carry, but to just outright own a firearm that feels a bit unconstitutional, as when the Democrats required literacy tests prior to voting to disenfranchise African Americans.

I think you are forgetting that the right to bear arms is a Constitutional Right. You are trying to compare it to driving a car(motor vehicle deaths still outnumber firearm deaths btw), but driving a car is no where in the Constitution.

Susan Bro spoke out as thousands of gun-rights activists - many carrying guns - rallied in Richmond, Virginia, on Monday to protest plans by the state’s Democratic leadership to pass sweeping gun-control legislation.

'I grew up with guns,' Bro told CNN on Monday. 'I believe in common sense gun measures, but not extreme measures. And I think that those need to be discussed. I think people need to be able to talk to their representatives.'

Bro noted that while she believes some of the gun restrictions under consideration are 'a bit extreme,' other parts of the legislation are sound.

Bro's daughter, 32-year-old paralegal Heather Heyer, was among hundreds demonstrating against white nationalists in Charlottesville in August 2017 when James Alex Fields Jr drove his car into the group, killing Heyer and injuring dozens of others.

Fields, an avowed white supremacist from Ohio, was sentenced to a life in prison in June 2019 after pleading guilty to federal hate crime charges.

Virginia Democrats are backing an assault weapons ban, along with bills limiting handgun purchases to once a month and background checks on gun purchases.

The new laws would also allow local authorities to ban guns in public buildings, parks and other areas.

A proposed 'red flag' bill would allow authorities to temporarily take guns away from anyone deemed to be dangerous to themselves or others.

On the eve of Monday's pro-gun rally in the Virginia state capital, Bro urged anyone planning to resort to violence to 'stay the hell away from Richmond,' as she told The Independent.

She also cautioned peaceful protesters seeking to come out and have their voices heard to be aware that there might be 'foolish people' in the crowd bent on stirring up hate.

As of Monday afternoon, there were no reports of violence or arrests during the rally in Richmond.

Authorities in Richmond were looking to avoid a repeat of the deadly violence that was seen in Charlottesville three years ago.

The size of the rally and the expected participation of white supremacists and fringe right-wing militia groups prompted Governor Ralph Northam to declare a state of emergency, but the event concluded without incident around noon.

The Richmond protesters, who were mostly white and male, came out in the thousands despite the chilly temperature to send a message to legislators, they said.

'The government doesn’t run us, we run the government,' said Kem Regik, a 20-year-old private security officer from northern Virginia who brought a white flag with a picture of a rifle captioned, 'Come and take it.'

The rally coincides with the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, which is typically a chance for everyday citizens to use a day off work to lobby their legislators. However, the threat of violence largely kept other groups away from the Capitol, including gun control groups that hold an annual vigil for victims of gun violence.

There is this little thing called due process. Then there is the legal principle of "innocent until proven guilty." And the ability to face your accuser. Not to mention illegal search and seizure. If you are an imminent threat, we already have laws that allow for your arrest, declaring you mentally incompetent and so on. During CPAC, Culpepper County Sheriff Scott Jenkins told Breitbart News that Virginia Democrats are punishing sheriffs who continue to stand against gun control.

On December 7, 2019, Breitbart News reported Jenkins’ announcement that he was ready to “deputize thousands” to defend Second Amendment rights had the Virginia Democrats passed gun bans and other controls that were being pushed.
