I mean, it's not really a matter of study. I'm a person of what I'd consider fairly average intelligence. I'm not by any means a genius, but I'm not a complete idiot either. When you talk to someone, at least when I do, I tend to run under the assumption that they're at least as intelligent, or logical, or rational as I am. However, if I'm really in the middle of the intelligence spectrum then 50% of the people I talk to are less intelligent. It's always a surprise to me when I think of it that way or encounter someone in the lower end of that 50%, but that's the reality of it.
