Sorry, just now getting around to looking this up for you. First of all, let me explain how Jim Murray rates whisky. He give the Nose, Taste, Finish, and overall Body a score out of 25 each, and then adds the four scores together to come up with a composite percentage out of 100.

I've never seen him score a whisky higher than 97.5 in the 6 years I've read his Whisky Bible.

Laphroaig 17 yr = 94

Laphroaig 25 yr = 94

Laphroaig 27 yr = 94.5

Laphroaig 30 yr = 94

If you want me to type up the specific tasting notes for any of the bottles, let me know. These are REALLY good scores for Jim Murray by the way. If you get a mid 90's score from him, you really are above the rest of the pack. He doesn't hand out 90's scores very often.
