Expedition 33 is pretty nifty.
A couple buddies at work have been trying to get me to play the new Dune game. They make it sound like it’s the best MMO ever made.
I watched the movies and thought they were ok. Never read the books. Dune nerds are a different breed to other sci-fi franchises and I never found myself interested in the extensive lore.
It honestly was a good game.. for a couple weeks.
Once you get to spice and have a carrier and harvester.. and have the people in thopters to defend you farming spice.. it's pretty much all the end game content there is.
Most people could get through the quests and get to carrier and harvester within a couple weeks.
And that's when most people just quit as they have "won" the game.
47 hours into Witchfire a dark Judeo-Christian fantasy shooter. It sort of reminds me of Doom with Destiny shooting mechanics. The game gives you an arsenal of light and heavy spells, multiple weapons to equip in three usable slots, stat and skill upgrades, and multiple trinket buffs to create different fighting builds. Plus usable objects and mats for various types of other buffs like treasure and herb location icons on your maps. The game also caters to the explorer with hidden rewards on the easy to navigate maps.
This is a pretty good video that explains some basics.
Early access on Steam. It's a solid and fully playable game but not quite done which essentially means there's free expansions on the way.
