Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson made the claim while being questioned by CNN on the ongoing Epstein files scandal. Network anchor Manu Raju asked the congressional leader to explain Trump calling the case a ‘hoax'.

That means Trump is claiming to have known at the time what Epstein was up to.
My opinion, based on years of observing Trump, is that Trump lied to Johnson about having been an FBI informant. It was a really dumb thing to lie about. Nobody is going to believe the reason Trump was running around with Epstein was so that the could rat on him, "rat" being the word Trump has used to describe police informants.

Since you guys want to focus on what I think of it I'll tell you! My initial reaction was straight up shock that the speaker of the House actually said it because it is so obviously a cover up lie of massively stupid proportions. It shows the incredible spinelessness of the Republican party when the speaker of the House is going to say out loud that Trump was an FBI informant and the Epstein pedophile ring. Remember, this was a guy who let Congress go to break early to avoid a vote on releasing the Epstein files. This guy is totally in Trump's pocket. There is no separation of power between Congress and the presidency when the speaker of the House thinks he can get away with such unbelievably blatant lies to cover a felon and pedophile.
Is this really what you guys voted for because it's not going well.
