The official statement from the show is they always go on summer break around this time of year, but the timing does seem suspicious.

It's possible they think they are going on summer break but the show never comes back. That would be awesome.

See, this highlights a problem with modern society. A few hundred years ago, Back would be a peasant working in some farm field and have a real purpose in life.
