Also I know in my area, and I'm pretty sure just about every place in the US, charges more for electricity during the summer.

So, yes, in that case my electricity bill has gone up this year, also because I am using the AC now.

I had assumed Back was comparing this year to last year, but perhaps this is Back's first time ever paying an electric bill in his life and he doesn't realize that summer rates + AC usage = higher electric bill.

Good point. They also charge more for electricity during peak times as well, usually in the early afternoon to early evening.

Yep, that's the same here in the summer, gas and electricity go up. Of course our biggest cost increase in decades was driven by the push to complete the Vogtle nuclear plant with an irresponsible and idiotically negotiated contract by our PSC. Who would have thought a "get it done no matter the time or cost" contract would every develop massive cost overruns, delays and corruption? UGGGGGGG

I'm REALLY curious what grocery items (be specific) you've seen go up 10% or more this year. Beef has for sure, what else?

I bet if we cut California out of the equation the inflation rate for electricity would probably be closer to 2 or 3%.

Again, blame your state and local leaders for why your electricity rates have skyrocketed. And remember to vote for them again and again and again.

I’ve noticed some increase on produce, specifically strawberries / blackberries / raspberries. My kids love that as a healthy snack. It’s reasonably priced at Sam Club, but our local grocery store wants like $5 for a little 6 oz container of “organic” raspberries. Highway robbery. That and beef as you mentioned.

I’m the grocery shopper for my family and go to at least once a week, so I notice these things. This year is nothing like 2022-early 2024 where the cost of everything seemed to go up every month.

for me in Texas, it costs me more to heat my home than it does to cool it if it actually does get cold. It's older I know i should fix a few things. Just the electric is more in the winter months. kw/hr is the same just saying not really valid input to the conversation.

Same for me. One thing that helped a ton was when my AC unit crapped out on me a couple years back, I replaced it with one that had a heat pump. Looks like the same box and such. I’m not a HVAC guy. It did cut my electricity bill in the cold winter months in half. I guess it’s not common or standard with older homes in North Texas due to our climate, but that did make a significant difference.

Now that the inflation rate has risen a whole 0.4% in the past 2 months, and the inflation rate is STILL lower than when Trump took office, now the headlines are screaming "Inflation is rising fast thanks to Trump!"

Spare me. 2.7% inflation rate in June. Last year the inflation rate in June was 2.9%

Can these fuckers at least wait until the inflation rate is worse than the previous year before they commence with the doom and gloom? When the inflation rate surpasses 6% and it takes 15 months before it drops below 6% then I'll go ahead and give Trump the same shit I gave Biden. Until then the left wing media just proves how corrupt they are.
Wholesale inflation was expected to rise 0.2% in June, wholesale inflation ended up being completely flat instead.

The fear mongering from the left is just absurd at this point. We have been hearing for months now that the tariffs were going to send prices skyrocketing and that hasn't even been remotely close to true yet.

Serious question, Back, why do you keep falling for this dumb shit?
