Clyder: "Where all my slave labor going?! I don't want to pay Americans to make my shit! I want cheap slave labor shit!"

How any union member still supports the Democrat party is wild to me.

Probably the only consistent thing about Democrats... they love their slaves and they hate anyone who wants to take them away.

    The silver lining..

Some products may go down in price because of the tariffs. China usually buys about 30% of U.S. pork exports. Tariffs may cause a complete end to pork purchases by China and a decrease in pork purchases by other countries, forcing U.S. farmers to sell their products at a loss in the U.S. For that reason, you should immediately begin accumulating pork chop recipes. The farmers' loss will be your gain. You can bake them, grill them, fry them, smother them, barbecue them, even stuff them, if you're into that. Warning, though.. don't fall for any recipe for "ranch" pork chops.

He just wants attention is all.

We should all make a concerted effort to just ignore his 8743207423904723 attention threads. Maybe he'll just fuck off.

Pork is and has been cheap historically. US pork loin at my "expensive" grocery story usually runs 5 4 ounce chops for $4 (or $0.80 each). My wife and I make that into two meals, usually accompanied by half a head of romaine lettuce ($2.50ea x .5 = $1.25) and a vinaigrette dressing we make ourselves (lets say $0.25) with cucumber ($1 each locally grown, we use half so $0.50) and maybe 5 or six baby tomato (most expensive @ $4.99 for a big box of baby tomatoes ~ $0.50) . So for roughly $3.30 each we get US grown pork and a healthy salad.

Beef... beef is expensive. We've been eating a lot of atlantic cod ($13ish a lb, usually buy 1/2 to 2/3rd a lb), grouper ($16ish a lb, we usually go with 6 ounce filets) and yellowfin tuna (think this was 13ish as well, we usually go with 1/4lb each on a salad) instead. Alternatives are all around, if beef is up, eat something else. Hopefully farmers turn to beef industry and drive down the costs of american beef.

Anyway, all that said, looking forward to some Gulf of America shrimp.

Oh, and pork prices being so low is because of monster facilities where they never see sunlight in North Carolina. Smithfield foods, you should look it up. It's what killed the pork industry for small farmers. They will be impacted by tariffs. I don't see it as a bad thing, it's part of the leverage against China (they do like pork).

Ethane is critical to the entire Chinese plastics industry and they can't make it themselves, apparently, the US makes it and now they are capitulating to keep their entire plastics industry from collapsing.
