Golly, it's almost as if it's following the trend line like I'd been saying. Almost as if democrats were just being huge drama queens and not having a clue what they're talking about...

    Then:

    Now:

I'm sure that Back and the blue hairs know better though because of their feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelings.

Bernie Sanders although I don't feel he would want to do it as old as he is. But whoever steps into that role of closing tax loopholes for the super rich so they pay a fair share instead of cutting all of our services to fix a budget problem that the Democrats and Republicans both created.

Actually I’ll try to engage you on this…

It seems you are concerned with everyone paying their fair share of taxes. I’m not opposed to that. What if instead we simplify our tax system AND get rid of all those loopholes? I propose that up to the line of poverty (let’s say $35k in annual income for a single person…I’m flexible on that number) there is no tax bill. Any dollar after that amount gets taxed at X% (say 20% but I’m flexible on identifying that number as well). Everyone pays their fair share & it is the same % past that initial line over poverty amount. The only deductions we keep are for children & dependents as it is in the best interest of the county to have an incentive for those. Eliminate capital gains tax. Make it so paid dividends gets counted as ordinary income. The general idea of the tax plan, with exception to the very poor everyone pays an equal share of taxes. Together we suffer and all feel the tax burden. Eliminate most of the complexity & loopholes when filing, which would also improve tax collection efficiency. Would you be opposed to that?

You are correct that Democrats and Republicans together created this massive deficit. Our GDP to debt ratio has spiraled out of control and it’s unsustainable to continue this level of government spending without severe consequences for every American. We cannot just ignore the problem. Seems to me eliminating waste / fraud / abuse is an excellent starting point to reducing our deficit. I don’t understand why we can’t find common ground here. This should have bipartisan support. Even Obama spoke about the need to do exactly what DOGE is doing today.

Sanders attempted to be the leader of the Democrat Party. At least twice.

And the Democrats fucked him over.

It's quite telling that you have to go outside your Party to find the leader of your Party..........

Remember how Bernie always railed against "millionaires and billionaires" until he became a millionaire himself, and now he only rails against "billionaires"?

    What's your opinion on that?

I don't have a problem with people who have money. I have a problem with the system that heavily favors the wealthy over the poor. Tax and polls have given the wealthy and unfair advantage. Our government particularly the Republicans think that pulling services away from common people and giving tax breaks to the wealthy are the way to fix things. I disagree with that 100%. The wealthy can contribute their fair share and we lift up everyone from the top.
