    If you follow your line of thinking then people who vote for the Republican party are more responsible for deficit growth than democrats. Republican presidents have generally increased the U.S. deficit more than Democratic ones. According to Investopedia, Republican presidents have added about $1.4 trillion to the deficit per four-year term, compared to about $1.2 trillion added by Democratic presidents.
