There were not two sets of rules. That is a political construct.

Recommendations were made. People followed them or didn't. You had the freedom to follow them or not. You had just as much freedom to protest anything as much anyone else did.

Tell that to the truck drivers that participated in Canada’s Freedom Convoy, or gym owner Ian Smith in New Jersey who refused to close his business. Tell Gavin Newsom and Nancy Pelosi to follow their own lockdown rules.
