Is anyone else hearing local stories about their neighbors getting laid off by the federal government? In my area there are hundreds of thousands of federal employees. In my state and county our county executive and governor are offering resources for those people who have been laid off. Locals who have been laid off are asking for jobs in my FB feed. One of my buddies wife got the resign option letter. Shes not going to do it because if she did she'd lose her pension. It's pretty nuts.

Our government is of, by, and for the people. It serves us. When you cut the government you cut our services. When you lay off people who work in the government that serves us we are less served. When you cut government programs meant to serve us, help us, keep us safe financially, physically, mentally, you are cutting our general welfare. A government is not a for profit operation. Trump, Musk, and Project 2025 have lost sight of what American really is: a haven for people to live free from tyranny.

How many pipeline workers, coal miners, oil field workers, small businesses and their employees lost their jobs from Biden policies? Did you see them paraded on the news for sympathy? No, the media was like "Learn to code". You didn't care then so fuck your crocodile tears now.

Our government is a bloated mess of corruption, waste, theft and fraud. It serves it's self and that is what needs cut out. Critical services are not being cut. Our government is in the fast track to bankrupting our whole nation and economy. If spending isn't cut, we have around 3-5 years before we can't pay our debt. Taxes are already too high to use for raising money because of the dampening effect on the economy which causes revenue to decrease. We have tried it your way for decades and now, we are on the precipice of destruction.

I can assure you that any harm caused by government layoffs will be orders of magnitude less than the harm caused by forced austerity and the rampant inflation caused by our default on the debt. Or the war pushed as an attempt at a distraction instead. Kind of like China is trying to do now in order to placate it's people over their collapsing economy.

Supposedly 4+ million jobs a year are not filled in this country, guess it's time for all those government leeches to learn to weld or something.
