also, i'm not saying that every leftist or progressive policy polls well. i'm sure the abolishing of landlords isn't a very popular stance, however, I think since Bernie ran the Overton window has shifted a lot and many things are now popular, like the things I listed.
Eat the rich has always had support of people who are dumb throughout the ages.

But how do you go about doing that, specifically? The top 1% already pay like 50% of all taxes received by the IRS. You don't believe that is already their fair share?

We should be proud to have billionaires in our country. They should pay their fair share of taxes just like everyone else, but stealing their wealth to (in theory) redistribute to the poor is not the American way.

If you have the right skill, talent, business acumen, dedication, etc. you too can be a billionaire in America. I’m grateful for the many blessings God has graced me. Billionaires don’t owe me a damn thing, nor do I owe them anything. Most honorable men just want the opportunity to make a good life for themselves and their family, and how they define that good life is up to their own ambitions & willingness to invest their own sweat equity.

Leftists are fueled by envy and hate, and they tend to be huge losers all around, so they'll always have it out for billionaires.

i don't know about unrealized gains specifically, but taxing the rich polls very well on both sides. i'm assuming you're talking about the Harris plan, which is for people who are worth > $100 million. so i'm going to extrapolate and say that if you are a normal voter who is for taxing the rich, you are good with having them pay on their unrealized gains

Democrats need to go populist, but they are burdened by the control of the elite establishment. A huge part of Trump’s appeal is he is the anti-establishment candidate. If Democrats had somebody that didn’t answer to the Pelosis, Clintons, Obamas, etc. that we all know quietly pull all the strings, that may help.
i agree that Trump tries to portray himself as an outsider, even though he isn't, and that is his appeal. i also agree that the Democrats are worthless and don't really stand a chance unless they start over or another Obama comes around again, which won't happen.

Not only is that morally reprehensible, but doing so would also severely damage our economy. You think people worth over $100 million are just going to say oh well and take that? Would you? No. Their money, assets, and business would leave this country.
