No one is suggesting you must believe what the people are saying, that's what we call a strawman argument, but you are latching onto the media "debunking" the pet eating thing so you are now discounting each and every citizen who is saying things are going to shit in their town.

Here's a simple math/logic problem for you: do you think you can shove 20k poor immigrants into a town of 60k and some things won't turn to shit? Resources won't be stretched thin? The immigrants won't assimilate to the culture of the town/state/country? Crime won't go up? Rent prices won't go up? Local wages won't go down?
