In this documents case, I believe Trump will need to rely on the law, instead of the facts, as a defense. It will be nearly impossible for Trump to deny, for example, the fact that he discussed, and described the contents of, a military secret document with reporters, told them that it was highly classified, and stated that he wished he had declassified it while he was President. It's all on audio tape. There's no way to deny it. The deceit involved in the hide-the-box game will be tough to deny too, and that is probably the crime for which punishment will be greatest.
Trump's defense in this case will need to be legal motions. Trump will need to try to have evidence excluded from his trial based on various legal theories. It could take a very long time.
Speaking of that defamation case, did you hear it immediately got re-launched after he continued to defame her following the end of the trial?
If there was a Oscar award for worst defendant ever he might just take the cake.
Defense lawyers still chuckle all the way to the bank though.
