Edit: Sincere advice is that a big reason why you are constantly made fun of is that you double down on clearly illogical statements. If instead you were to say “Hey guys, remember when I said Republicans were trying to block abstinence? I was shit faced drunk and also doing fat lines of coke off a hooker’s ass when I wrote that. My bad.” Everybody says some dumb shit now and then. Just own it. You would have my respect if you did, and without speaking on behalf of others I know that I’m not alone.
