You're right.. you probably know a great deal more than I do about living in debt.. given that I have been debt free since I was in my mid 30's.

As far as the government debt goes, we are 22T in debt, but our government has made future commitments to the additional 9 trillion, which brings the actual total of US debt to 31.5 trillion.

If you actually knew how our economy ran, you would understand that the deficit doesn’t have as big of an impact as you think it does.
You do know the difference between "deficit" and "debt" right? No one is even talking about deficit here.

Those two terms are two different things, just an FYI.

But I’m sure your plumber degree, and massive amounts of google searches makes you an expert.
I know you really look down on plumbers or anyone else that works for a living.. but there is no such thing as a "plumber degree"

I haven't been called a plumber since the last retard did it. That's 2 for 2 now.

It’s funny how you are crying about paying the IRS $80bln over 10 years, when the main purpose of this money is to close the $600 billion a year tax gap. I repeat $600 billion a year.

If the IRS recovers just 1.5% of that a year, it’ll paid off its 80bln and some. If you think our debt is so out of control, you should be all for this money going to the IRS. This just proves you have no clue what you are talking about.
I wish I had a dollar for every time the US government said they just need x number of dollars more.. and they would save us so much money in the long run.

I’m sure someone like SP who has a financial background, understands.
I'm sure SP knows the difference between deficit and debt too... probably because he's not retarded.

I expect so little from you.. and you never fail to live up to that.

Imagine claiming you are in the financial sector.. and you are confused about "debt" and "deficit"....

Because of the difference between Public Debt and Intragovernmental Debt which is approximately 8 trillion of the overall total number. Intragovernmental debt is in reality an asset that was loaned in between branches, mostly money that's sitting in the Social Security and Medicare Trusts. The actual public national debt is the only part that could be defaulted upon.

No one has even talked about only the part of the debt that could be defaulted on.

DC has a spending other people's money problem... and God forbid they stop spending like drunken sailors at a strip club. No, they are looking at the revenue side to "fix" their spending problem.

SPOILER: It's not a revenue problem, it's a spending problem.
