Man Seran I didn't realize that just passing a law to make it totally illegal to own something would completely stop anyone from owning or buying something! Who Knew? Tell me, when did it become legal for people to own, oh, I don't know, heroine? Cocaine? Meth? Speed? Fentanyl? Or any of the other stuff floating around out there? Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't all of those illegal to own, use, transport, sell, or even purchase? Stunning how good that is going, isn't it? I mean, surely it being illegal means that no one is able to get any of it? Didn't the US win the War on Drugs as soon as it was declared? There certainly doesn't exist an entire criminal Cartel (several in fact) that pours that stuff into our country and sells it damn near anywhere they want to despite it being <gasp> illegal! Say it ain't so?!?!
So if the US gov't can't even stop someone from growing pot in their basement when it is illegal to do so, how the hell do you expect some new, even better, "We really mean it this time" law to prevent someone from purchasing guns illegally? Pretty sure that the same cartels that ship millions of tons of drugs into our country every year, despite every law enforcement agency in the country tying to stop them, would happily add a few hundred guns to the list. Oh wait, they do that already.
But yeah, go ahead, make another nonsense law, that doesn't get enforced by DA's all over the country, to make it even more illegal to use a gun in a crime, this time I'm sure that it will stop all the gun violence. Just like all those "Gun Free Zone" signs did. I do have one suggestion, why don't we replace the Capitol Police, and the Secret Service, and State Police protection details on all of our politicians with those signs. Just make, say a 100' area around every politician a "Gun Free Zone" That will definatly keep them safe. Right?

"Some people's idea of free speech is that they are free to say what they like, but if anyone says anything back, that is an outrage." -- Sir Winston Churchill
Many countries have banned guns, and they don’t have the gun problem we do. So obviously it’s quite possible and doable, to stop the illegal purchase, import and usage of guns from the point you are trying to make.
(Yes I’m aware there are millions of guns in the states, but I’m not referring to that aspect. Just that countries with bigger and smaller populations have successfully stopped the illegal purchases of guns, and gun violence in general)

The fantasy of Americans running down the street firing guns like Yosemite Sam is a hard notion to divest themselves from. Nevermind their family being shot and killed by someone else who use that easily obtain firearm to steal from and then take their life.
Our country has gun control, some places are safer from gun violence than others due to more stringent laws. But our nation will have stronger gun controls Nationwide before long.
People don't look at numbers, just listen to the sensationalized nonsense that is pushed by lobby groups.

Some hard facts.
TLDR: " In truth, mass shootings account for only a small percentage of gun deaths in the United States. Rather, nearly two-thirds (63%) of gun deaths in the US in 2019 were suicides."
For a country as large as we are - we are not a violent country. Certain locations are. Certain cities are. But 99% of the rest of the country and it's citizens are responsible gun owners.
The continued push to degrade the 2nd Amendment is solely a mechanism of control and power, that would only lead to further interference of the Government into individual lives.
They try to cite Australia and Japan - but all you have to look at is what the Australian Government did to it's citizens for 2+ years during Covid... essentially started interment camps and jailed their own citizens, and they had no recourse - none with any meaningful way to make it happen.
Then trying to compare the American culture to Japanese culture is absurd. Americans are fucking morons and barbarians compared to the general politeness of that culture.

In addition:
https://www.businessinsider.com/2nd-...r-arms-2017-10
- Only three countries in the world currently have a constitutional right to own a gun: the US, Mexico, and Guatemala.
- Six other countries used to have a constitutional right to bear arms, but they've since repealed those laws.
- The US is the only country with a right to keep and bear arms with no constitutional restrictions.
Want to know why the US skyrocketed in such a short time (comparatively speaking) to power and prominence? The 1st Amendment empowering it's citizens over it's own government.... backed up by the smart decision to allow those citizens the means to ensure their independence.
Odd how no other country allows that. One might say, weird in fact.
Thank goodness we had, at least for a time, some smart motherfuckers who understood the human condition - and regardless of the time period, or advances made - knew that power corrupts, and corrupts absolutely... and tried to create a framework that ensured the citizens could defend themselves if needed from servitude.
People tend to forget that, nor ever knew it, nor were taught it... or for some moronic reason think their form of fascism will really, really be better this time for all the common folk.
There's a reason the other 195 countries don't allow it's citizens to have the same rights we do... because those in power know what the fuck would happen.

"Suspect arrested in NYC smoke shop execution caught on tape was out on bail for shooting at cops"
This is the type of insanity that occurs.
NY - Tough gun laws.
NY - Lax prosecution of those that break said laws.
NY - Criminals don't follow the laws (Lefties tend to forget this point)
NY - Insanity and pointless gun violence occur
Good work NY. Get what you elect.
