When the end result is innocents being murdered everyday, your party loses the ideological argument of rejecting any solution with the hopes the issue will go away or resolve itself.

That shooter in Kentucky? They were a good citizens until something changed in their life that spurred them to buy an AR-15 and to use it on his coworkers after being given a termination notice. No part of a reactionary strategy will resolve that event retroactively, that's not how reality works. We know the week prior to the event he purchased the gun, so again a two week waiting period means when he sought to purchase the gun, his method of execution of the event would not exist on the day it occured. Basic logic.

Registration leading to confiscation? No.. Due process prevents that. However if someone owns a weapon and later becomes a threat to themselves or others, taking away a known registered firearm is a reasonable cause under due process.
