Did Zelensky shut down independent media? Yes.
Did Zelensky ban religious affiliations? Yes.

On top of that Russian orthodox is one of the smaller religions in Ukraine, it’s not a major one you think, I think not even 5% of the country follow it, and I bet you most of them are in eastern Ukraine that is controlled by Russia.

4% of the population of 44m isn’t 5m, it’s around 1.7m with 1.3-1.4m in the two eastern regions of Russia that have already been evacuated to Russia.
