Don't worry dude, there will still be funding in place for your welfare checks.

If your opinions weren't so fucking retarded, we could have a discussion.

BUT if a VAT system did away with giving you a welfare check every month, I'm even more for it now.

I know right? The horrors of taxing people when they spend their money instead of when they earn it. Sooooo evil.

Oh wait I get it. You're worried that a VAT instead of an income tax would make your welfare check effectively worth a little bit less, since welfare checks aren't taxable, but your spending would be taxed more than it currently is.

Now it all makes sense. Silly me.

The VAT system would benefit the rich, and hurt the middle and lower class. Not sure how you all would approve of that. It’s also easier to tax evade as well.

Yes and no. They could obviously make essentials, such as food, and such, tax free. Any tax effects the poor more than the rich, regardless of what system you use... Because being rich means you are rich in the first place.

Great argument for a VAT. You identify the wealthy already are wealthy and regardless of the massively lower amount they spend as a percentage of income or their wealth to VAT applicable purchases, you defend transitioning away from personal income tax and capital gains taxes to make them wealthier still. Meanwhile, the poor, whom you already seem to understand suffer proportionately more under our tax system, should suffer a higher marginal rate under VAT because they're fucked either way. How very Republican of you.

They could do that now with our tax system as well.

With every federal tax system, there will be mechanisms put in place to ensure that the poor are not overburdened with the new type of tax system.

We shouldn't have a tax code that encompasses some 75,000 fucking pages to give the government takes our money.
