And... Afghanistan was a twenty year long commitment and the DoD outlays were by no means inclusive of additional cash aid given to Afghanistan by our government. We built infrastructure, airbases, airport improvements and provided stupid amounts of cash corruptly stolen by the government. Afghanistan was what.. 18 years worth? We're not even hitting the first year anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
