I think I disagree with you here as I’m not clear on what you are exactly saying.

America is a beacon of hope for a lot of people around the world(it even says something along those lines in our passports as one of the quotes in it.). Our role, whether we like it or not is to defend democracy from tyrants and dictators. While what we do doesn’t always help the American people directly, we are helping people who do want freedom, who do look to America for help. I am aware that politicians also abuse this and take advantage of it, but that shouldn’t stop us from doing what’s right. I’m 100% for us helping Ukraine to the end.
