In a civilized world with two equally qualified candidates, a debate whose substance is limited to answers involving policy questions and a moderator empowered to do follow ups and enforce decorum? Voters win by such debates being held.
In the real world when parties choose candidates based upon their participation in television shows, lack of experience, and fiery rhetoric? A career politician or civil servant has nothing to gain by thirty minutes of QAnon talking points.
