It should be BOTH. Police officers should /never/ be less equipped than the people they're protecting a community from. Qualified immunity for police officers who are performing duties is unquestionable, but each and every police department should be equipped as if entering a high tech warzone. The moment the shooter started firing outside of the school, a hail of bullets comparable to a rainstorm should have taken him down. A sniper should have put a bullet right in his forehead. But the Uvalde police department was underequipped, undertrained and cowards.

sorry dude, but this is a bad take. police should not be armed like they are in a warzone. militarizing our police force is a huge issue in this country and isn't something that benefits anyone other than the ruling class. there are solutions here i'm sure but giving cops more power isn't one.

also, lol at thinking qualified immunity is a good thing but we won't get into that.

Nobody in their right mind wants to be a police officer anymore. Until the alt-left stops praising the likes of George Floyd and vilifying cops because a lifetime criminal died while resisting arrest, this shit is only going to get worse.

sorry, but this is ridiculous. there is no evidence that shows that the lack of "nuclear family" or lack of traditional family structure plays any role in mass shootings or crime. the idea that non-traditional family structures is a factor here is a socially conservative myth. it's been shown that socio-economic factors play more of a role in a childs emotional development and family stability rather than the traditional family structure you are talking about.

the real issue is mental illness and lack of health care, indoctrination and yes (dare i say) ease of access to guns, but that's a moot point now.

There's no evidence except all the evidence and data collected over the past 50 years.
