I thought it looked staged at first. I really did. if you see some of the freeze frame of Rocks mug as looks down the barrel of a Smith delivered palm strike to the dome, he doesn't appear surprised in the slightest. But that could just be because he's got 3+ decades of knowing the man and he knows what button's he's just been pushing. I don't suppose he was in fact taken off guard, which kinda makes it seem like he baited Will and took it on the cheek to make him look bad, which I suppose it did.

Or maybe they just had a beer the other day and were like "Wouldn't it be funny if... "

Well, now that the Academy and law enforcement are involved, we can all know this wasn't a staged moment.

Also, if another man slapped me.. first I would laugh... because what kind of man slaps another man in the face? Like bro....

The after slap awkwardness is what told me it wasn't fake.

And there's no way Will Smith would do something like this.. and for it to still be a skit. He's taking a pounding in the press/on social media and his public image has taken a major hit. He banks on that carefully crafted image.

Once they knew that this wasn't a skit, he should have been escorted out of the building instead of letting him sit there and enjoy the show.. then get an award.

Not sure if they should revoke the award or not... don't really care. The Oscar goes to shitty movies mostly anyway.

I think the man is thoroughly embarrassed after his wife cheated on him with apparently anything with a dick, then convinced him to be okay with an open marriage after the fact to absolve herself of her actions, and now he's lashing out.

Not defending the guy, but he probably has mental health issues stemming from his shitty marriage and he's pretending everything is fine. That shit is bound to explode eventually.

Yea, if you look at the clip, Will was laughing at the "joke" but look at Jada's face... she wasn't having it. After the camera panned away, she probably gave Will a look like "This is why I cheat on you, little cuck" and it triggered Will.

He's been emasculated for 25 years and it just erupted.

Not making an excuse for Will because his behavior was unacceptable. Plus he slapped another man, which is such a cuck type of little bitch move.

If you are going to go up on stage and strike another man in the face, it better be with a closed fist.
