Biden banned the importation of Russian ammo last year by executive order. (Or rather set in motion)
I bought an eff load back in the day when it was 17 cents a round for 7.62x39. AKs were made to shoot steel cased bimetal ammo like that. There hasn’t been an American manufacturer to fill that space in the market, but I heard Palmetto State Armory is tooling up to produce it. For anything but 7.62x39 and 5.45x39 (Russian calibers), I buy brass which is usually American made.

Don’t have anything on the AK platform. I’m looking at getting an M1A in .308 Winchester soon.
