I enjoyed the surprise that Russia emoted when Zelensky turned down flying to the Belarus capital for peace talks. As if he was stupid enough to put himself in the hands of a Russian puppet state

It appears that the Russian army is not enthusiastic about invading Ukraine. Putin has not done a good job of selling it to his own country. It's hard to see how, in the near term, Ukranian enthusiasm can overcome the Russians' superior numbers, training and equipment. In the longer term, Ukranian enthusiasm can, indeed, wear down the resolve of an occupying force, just as a now-famous Russian child helped to do 80 years ago. When Yuri Gagarin, the first person in space and a national hero in Russia, was just 7, the German army occupied his small town in Russia. After German soldiers threatened his brother, Yuri sneaked out to German tanks parked nearby and sabotaged their batteries. Russian soldiers should not forget that well known story.

All Russian owned, registered, or controlled aircraft are now banned from using EU airspace. Canada has also enacted this ban. The US has not yet, but has warned US citizens to exit before commercial options become harder to arrange.

Russia Today and Sputnik publications are banned from the EU.

People in Belarus don’t support their leader. It’s really big news in the limited independent Russian news

That probably won't last long. Belarus is basically a Soviet State that never fell.

The oligarchs need to remove putin.

What does putin do if he can’t take Ukraine? How does he not launch a nuke?

He’s threatened the use of using a nuke so far. I’m not doubting him at this point. I didn’t think he’d invade, even though he had positioned himself to do so. I’m very fearful he’ll launch a nuke.
